Google Alerts Updated With Video

Google as added video content to Google Alerts, making an already effective product even more functional. If you've never used Google Alert here is the short explanation. Say you want to monitor all the news on your employer, set up a Google alert to search for your employers name. Google will continually scan the web for new occurrences of your employers name and whenever it finds a match it will email that web page to you.

What the new video alert feature good for, now in addition to standard we content, if a video appears on YouTube or Google Video that mentions your employer, you will now be notified of that as well.

Other uses that come to mined, say you want to know when the latest Heroes episode is posted and ready to download, you might want to setup a Google alert of Heroes. Then not only will you be alerted to new Heroes web content, you'll be posted when the episodes are posted as well.
