Last June the folks at Inside Google Desktop released the first beta of Google Desktop for Linux, now they have an update Google Desktop for Linux 1.1 Beta. They have added support for multiple image formats for thumbnails and added the ability to launch applications from within Desktop, and of course search MS Office Documents.
Download the new version and give it a try, and let them know your Feedback. That way the next version will be even better.
